From historical research and geophysical survey to EOD and battle area clearance
UXO survey identifies and maps unexploded ordnance (UXO) – shells, bombs, rockets, grenades and submunitions that failed to function – before works or land use begin. UXO clearance then investigates each target, identifies the item and renders it safe or destroys it. GEODE provides UXO risk assessment, survey design, EOD expertise and quality management, and relies on the DEMINETEC Group's geophysical survey and clearance teams for field delivery.
| Standard | Scope |
|---|---|
| IMAS 09.11 | Battle area clearance (BAC) |
| IMAS 09.30 | Explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) |
| IMAS 08.10 / 08.20 | Non-technical and technical survey |
GEODE has been part of the DEMINETEC Group since 2022. DEMINETEC carries out geophysical UXO surveys (magnetometer and electromagnetic methods), on-site neutralisation or destruction of munitions and mitigation in urban settings (DEMINETEC UXO clearance). UXOMAP, which joined the group in 2026, adds geophysical survey and UXO mapping capacity. The group's international references cover more than 30 countries on five continents (DEMINETEC Group international references).
A UXO survey combines historical research and geophysical measurements (magnetometry, electromagnetic methods) to locate and map possible unexploded ordnance before works, development or land use.
UXO clearance targets unexploded ordnance such as shells, bombs and submunitions, often through battle area clearance (IMAS 09.11). Mine clearance targets landmines in mined areas (IMAS 09.10). Many sites contain both.
Yes. Within the DEMINETEC Group, SEMTEC carries out underwater and offshore UXO clearance.
